What is the solstice?During these darkest days of the year, when the Northern Hemisphere is tipped furthest away from the sun, ancient cultures lit fires to celebrate the moment when the sun's light began to return.
Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa all celebrate the returning of the light but most of us neglect the wisdom and peace this darkest time also invites us to receive. |

For about three weeks each year, we experience this time of very little change in each day's light.
Solstice means sun-stasis.
In these weeks of early sunsets and dark evenings, we brighten our lives with light.
The heightened contrast offers wisdom.
In these days of sweet enveloping darkness
we can attune to Nature's invitation for quiet and introspection
to more clearly see the pinpoint of light ready to burst into flame in the year to come.

Gathering in the Time of COVID
In this time of increased precaution,
anyone local to Western Massachusetts and joining me in person for the afternoon event
will safely gather outside with 6' social distancing to commune and connect.
I will look to each woman who attends to do what is right for her to maintain safety.
Guidelines:
Attendance will be limited to 8 women at 6' distance.
We will be outdoors for much of the afternoon
in order to maintain proper social distancing protocols.
Masks are required outside as you feel the need and when inside, at all times.
A bathroom will be available and hand sanitizer will be provided.
Please bring your mask, something to sit upon, a water bottle,
a packed tea or supper, and layers to keep you warm.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to share them with me!
